Planned Giving

The Douglas A. Munro Society

The Douglas A. Munro Society recognizes donors who have provided for the Coast Guard Foundation in their estate plans. Named for the Coast Guard's only Medal of Honor recipient, Signalman First Class Douglas A. Munro, the Society acknowledges the generous intentions of those who will have a lasting contribution and make a real difference in the lives of Coast Guard members and their families.

Planned gift options include:
  • Bequest in your will benefitting the Coast Guard Foundation
  • Charitable Remainder Trust, Unitrust, Annuity Trust or a Living Trust
  • Naming the Coast Guard Foundation as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, IRA or other investment

Members of the Douglas A. Munro Society are listed in our annual report (except where anonimity is requested) and presented with a signed certificate in a quality folder and an exclusive Munro Society lapel pin as a token of our appreciation. We also extend invitations to regional Coast Guard Foundation events and programs that highlight Coast Guard heroism and mission excellence.
